Who can use this toolkit

While the toolkit was developed for use by Community and Stakeholder Engagement Implementers, this is an open resource for anyone involved with communities and clinical trials; donors, trial sponsors, researchers, advocates, community advisors, health workers, to name a few possibilities.

To learn more please visit our Resources page, where the full Toolkit Manual is available for download. If you would like to begin using these tools and database to track your CSE work, please visit our Login page to create an account.

Getting Started

The toolkit data collection tools were developed hand in hand with CSE teams and attempt to capture key data that can be used by CSE programs over time to track their progress and to plan their next steps.
An M&E tool is only of value once the CSE teams have:

  1. A detailed quarterly and annual work plan (goal and objective setting)
  2. A clear M&E plan
  3. Been trained to use the database correctly. Training materials can be found in the resources section of this website.

Once all this is in place, CSE teams should be in a position to compile and enter the data on a daily, monthly and biannual basis and generate the basic ‘pre-programmed’ quarterly report for themselves and their sponsors. CSE teams will also be able to extract the data and run more sophisticated analysis and generate more elaborate reports for other audiences. With this toolkit, teams should be well positioned to track, measure and interpret their CSE efforts over time, and in turn significantly inform their work planning for the subsequent quarters.
